The Indoor Murder Tour – Brighton after Dark at the Dukebox Theatre

Brighton’s Dukebox Theatre presents a tour of the local macabre this Saturday with The Indoor Murder Tour – Brighton After Dark. Hosted by Sussex actor and tour guide, Nick Richmond, the evening offers an imaginative slideshow journey through the tales of murder, crime and punishment that earned Brighton the title of “Queen of the Slaughtering Places” in Georgian and Victorian times.

The show portrays such notorious local figures as Christiana Edmunds, the Chocolate Poisoner; the Brighton Trunk Murderers; Dr Warders ‘murder by prescription’ of his wife; the Hangman of Hove; and the Smugglers’ Battle on Brighton seafront.

It’s sure to be a chilling evening of local – darker – colour. Anyone feeling (understandable) trepidation can be comforted by the fact that this particular tour is to be conducted indoors; in the comfort of Brunswick’s Iron Duke pub, with a drink at hand.

It’s also a great chance to experience a pre-fringe event at Dukebox before we move into May – the theatre won the Latest Award for Best Venue at the Brighton Festival and Fringe in 2013 and similarly great things are expected this year.

The Indoor Murder Tour – Brighton After Dark takes place on Saturday 9th April at 7.30pm at the Dukebox Theatre. Tickets are £7 – for more information or to book, click here.
