Theoo CIC is a community development initiative whose mission is to inspire development through creativity. They want to see real viable development by encouraging and building upon the skills, knowledge and potential of their focus communities. Always on the look out for skilled individuals who can bring more value and impact to their cause, their exhibitions are all about facilitating a change.

Their latest project is the Sub-Saharan Main Course Exhibition, a showcase of the work of ten black artists who will be sharing their experiences of diaspora. Recognizing art as a vehicle for community cohesion, Theoo wants to use this exhibition to push through the barriers that people of colour face as artists. This exhibition will showcase work from both emerging and known artists, all drawing on a rich cultural and common heritage to raise artist profiles and awareness.

The exhibition will also include live entertainment, refreshments and a chance to meet some of the artists. It will run until the 19th April and you can join the event page here to get updates throughout the course of the exhibition. This is going to be a fantastic exhibition and that chance to raise and discuss important issues surrounding the topic. Learn more about Theoo and the work they do here.

Reginald Centre, 263 Chapeltown Road, Leeds, LS7 3EX

Exhibition opens Tuesday 22nd March

5 – 6:30pm
