Back for it’s 8th year The Japanese Film Festival Ireland sees yet another collaboration between the Japanese Embassy and access>CINEMA with support from the Ireland Japan Association and the Japan Foundation.
As always the festival strives to collate a broad array of features and this year is no different with 22 very different films on show, from the acclaimed to the contemporary and beyond. The 45 screenings were launched simultaneously across the country from the 3rd of April in all the main cities.
From the 18th to the 21st of April in Dublin we are showing; modern tales Tamoko in Moratorium, The Apology King, Jokyo Monogatari in the Light House Cinema along with Ozu’s classic Early Summer. Also on show in the Chester Beatty Library is Petal Dance – a life-affirming road trip movie.
