House Festival 2016 launches on Saturday with ‘A Room With Your Views’ – a collaborative film installation co-commissioned by the Brighton Festival and presented by Turner-Prize winning artist Gillian Wearing. With the installation, Wearing has compiled snapshots of ‘views’ from windows from 600 people in 163 countries around the world  – a global collaborative work blending perfectly with House 2016’s curatorial theme of ‘Home’ and ‘Sense of Place’.

As the House 2016 Invited Artist, Gillian Wearing’s film installation can be viewed at the University of Brighton Galleries until 29th May, when the festival closes. Also at this location is Felicity Hammond’s exhibition ‘The Language of Living’; featuring a series of ‘photo-sculptures’ based on the artist’s photographs of architectural plans. The painter and mixed-media innovator Thompson Hall also features as a House 2016 Selected Artist, and his newly commissioned series ‘Home Away From Home’ can be viewed at The Regency Town House throughout the month.

House Festival 2016 takes place from this Saturday at multiple venues across Brighton and Hove. For more information, including details of artist’s talks and special events, click here.
